Planning a trip to Newfoundland but won’t have a car? All is not lost. While it’s much easier to explore the province with your own vehicle, there are still ways to get from town to town. The island has several bus & shuttle services that act as public transportation, and offer door-to-door service from anywhere to anywhere on their route.
Most shuttles operate, at most, once daily. For exact schedules contact the company directly. There is no online booking available. You must call the shuttle company to book your space and pay by cash only when you board the van.
To help you plan for your trip to Newfoundland we’ve compiled a list of different bus & shuttle companies and the routes they offer.
Cross-Island Service
DRL-LR provides daily motor coach service with 25 stops across the island portion of the province.
Eastbound departs Port aux Basques at 8:00am;
Westbound from St John’s departs at 7:30am.
Price is based on destination. St. John’s -> Port-aux-Basques is $165 per adult. There is no pre-booking. Tickets must be purchased upon boarding the bus. Cash only.

Is there a bus that would take a person from Corner Brook to Summerside, PEI?
You could take the DRL bus from Corner Brook to the ferry in Port-aux-Basques and then pick up Maritime Bus in North Sydney to Summerside.

Your best best is to take the DRL bus to Corner Brook and then take a shuttle service to St. Anthony.

The DRL bus stops at the student centre at Memorial University in St. John’s. From there you can get a MetroBus to the airport (route 14). The DRL stop in Gander is at the airport.

We don’t believe so. Looks like you’d probably need to connect together a couple of shuttle vans.
What is easiest way from Burin to Gander
No easy way since you’d need a taxi or a shuttle service to get you from Burin to the TCH and then you could take DRL to Gander, but the bus will pass Whitbourne much earlier than a shuttle would likely drop you off.

You don’t need to purchase tickets for the DRL bus in advance. You just show up and pay cash. So you would just do this twice if you’re only going as far as Clarenville and then another day going from Clarenville to Grand Falls.
